Cinema's Choice: CAPITOLE Nyon

Popular films, family films but also auteur films, documentaries, film club, special evenings with guests, original versions: diversity is at the heart of what we want to offer in the two venues of the Cinémas Capitole in Nyon. Coming from the four corners of the world, this selection is an opportunity for programmer Patrick Dentan to draw your attention to some of the favourites and gems of contemporary cinema.

«With cynicism and humour, Quebec director Denys Arcand ("Les invasions barbares") dissects the relationship and dependence on money in our societies. A committed and accusatory dramatic comedy, but also amusing and inhabited by delightful characters.»
«With its almost ethnographic approach, its visual flashes, the clarity of its images, Ciro Guerra tells us the origin of the Colombian drug cartels in a splendid and completely new way. »
«Even though it is a comedy, Ken Loach's unique perspective on social realities is very much present. This time, it's specially tinged with humour and tenderness. Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. »
