France, early 1980s: The country is embracing a spirit of change – musically as well. In a sleepy provincial town, a group of friends led by the charismatic Jérôme and his introverted brother Philippe runs a pirate radio station from an attic. Just as Philippe falls head over heels in love with Marianne, he is drafted into military service and sent to West Berlin. There, an encounter with the flamboyant radio host Dany changes his life: working as a DJ for the military radio station, Philippe discovers a new passion. But when he returns home, he finds that nothing is as it once was.
