Yuli is the nickname given to Carlos Acosta by his father, Pedro, who considers him the son of Ogun, an African god and a fighter. "20'000 especies de abejas" is a touching feature film debut in which women from three generations deal with questions of identity. Director Estibaliz Urresola Solaguren manages to show the complexity of family and identity in a sensitive way. The film is carried by Sofía Otero, who was awarded the Silver Bear for Best Actress at this year's Berlinale for her portrayal of Cocó.
