When teenage Priscilla Beaulieu meets Elvis Presley at a party, the man who is already a meteoric rock-and-roll superstar becomes someone entirely unexpected in private moments: a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness, a gentle best friend. Through Priscilla’s eyes, Sofia Coppola tells the unseen side of a great American myth in Elvis and Priscilla's long courtship and turbulent marriage, from a German army base to his dream-world estate at Graceland, in this deeply felt and ravishingly detailed portrait of love, fantasy, and fame.

With subtlety, director Sophia Coppola draws the portrait of a woman trapped in a gilded cage. She places Priscilla Presley, usually in the King's shadow, in the spotlight and shows the American myth of this turbulent marriage, from the point of view of this infatuated young girl who would become a strong, independent woman. Priscilla Presley was involved in the film as producer; her autobiographical book "Elvis and Me" was the starting point. This film, which tells the story of an emancipation, resurrects the 60s and 70s, with elaborate historical settings, elegant costumes, opulent make-up and, of course, a lively soundtrack by Phoenix. "Priscilla" premiered at the Venice Film Festival, where Cailee Spaeny won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress for her sensitive interpretation of the role of Priscilla.
