Touda dreams of becoming a sheikha: A traditional Moroccan artist who sings lyrics about resistance, love and emancipation that have been handed down for generations. Every evening, Touda performs in the bars of her small provincial town in full view of the men, harbouring hopes of a better future for herself and her son. When she is abused and humiliated, she decides to leave everything behind and move to Casablanca.
