Since her daughter emigrated to Europe, 70-year-old widow Mahin has been living alone in Tehran. After a sociable afternoon with friends, she decides to give love another chance. During her search, she unexpectedly meets Faramarz, a taxi driver of the same age. This chance encounter turns into a night that is as surprising as it is unforgettable.

«My Favourite Cake» is the third joint work by the directing duo Maryam Moghaddam and Behtash Sanaeeha. The film, which celebrated its world premiere in competition at the Berlinale, tells an emotional story of hope and love with gentle humour. It provides an authentic insight into everyday life in Iran and the subtle ways in which people can emancipate themselves against the authoritarian regime.
