The three Ivorian women Marie, Naney and Jolie have found refuge in Tunis, where they share an apartment. Without any legal status but with great compassion, the evangelical pastor Marie also takes in little Kenza, who was orphaned on her journey north. Together, the three women try to become a family for her while protecting themselves from poverty and discrimination. Marie leads the services in her «Church of Perseverance» with great fervour and stands uncompromisingly by her values. Jolie relies on her studies to integrate, while Naney plans to cross the sea. Despite their solidarity, their differing ambitions and temperaments put their life together to the test.

In her second feature film, director Erige Sehiri tells a rarely explored story: the focus is not on the journey to Europe, but on the lives of African migrant women on their own continent. She portrays women caught between hope and disillusionment, bathed in the soft light of dusk or framed in striking contrasts – seen up close or lost beneath a vast sky full of promise.
