Mathyas gives up his life as a young advertising professional in Montreal to become a shepherd in Provence. But the harsh reality of shepherding forces him to question his romanticized vision of the profession. The arrival of Élise, a civil servant who has abruptly quit her job, gives Mathyas’ journey a new direction. Together, they take responsibility for a flock of sheep and embark on a wandering journey through the mountains.

The film is based on the novel «D’où viens-tu, berger ?» by Mathyas Lefebure and won the award for Best Canadian Film at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.
