Dog lives in Manhattan and often feels lonely. To escape his solitude, he orders a robot. A deep friendship grows between them, and together they discover New York. But a carefree summer day at the beach takes an unexpected turn: after a swim in the sea, Robot is completely rusted and unable to move. Faced with a difficult decision, Dog is ultimately forced to leave him behind. As the seasons pass, Dog tries to build new connections, while Robot remains motionless – and begins to dream.
This touching story about friendship and its fragility is based on the graphic novel by Sara Varon. Told entirely without dialogue, the film captivates with its evocative music, detailed visuals and gentle humour. The Spanish-French co-production was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2024.
