Isabell’s life falls apart when she realizes that her elderly parents can no longer manage on their own. While desperately searching for care staff, she shuttles between Berlin and her parents’ weekend home. In this tense situation, Isabell repeatedly encounters the enigmatic Anja, a single mother struggling with her own challenges. As Anja and her young daughter Greta become increasingly present in Isabell’s life, an unexpected bond forms between the two women.

After «Der Architekt» and «Das Vorspiel», Ina Weisse presents her third feature film. Once again, she collaborates with Nina Hoss in the lead role and relies on a sensitive, nuanced direction. The film premiered at the Berlinale, brings together a strong ensemble, and weaves personal family history with a fictional narrative.
