Sirāt

Luis travels with his twelve-year-old son deep into the mountains of southern Morocco to attend a rave. He is searching for his older daughter, who disappeared months earlier during one of these sleepless, days-long parties. In the chaos of this foreign world, the two distribute photos of the missing girl as their hope slowly fades. When the rave is shut down by the local military amid political unrest, they join a small group trying to cross the desert to reach the next party near Mauritania – but the barren wilderness proves dangerously unpredictable.

French-Spanish filmmaker Óliver Laxe, winner of several major awards at the Cannes Film Festival, has once again drawn attention with «Sirāt», which received the Jury Prize.
