Pablo, a small-time dealer, and his teenage sister Apolline spend much of their lives in the fantasy world of «Darknoon», an online role-playing game. For Apolline in particular, the game is a vital outlet she’s denied in real life. All the harder, then, hits the announcement that the server is about to be shut down. As she spirals into an existential crisis, Pablo falls in love with his new business partner, Night, and desperately tries to protect his newfound happiness from the violence of rival dealers.

With breathless momentum, French directing duo Caroline Poggi and Jonathan Vinel let fantasy and reality flow into one another. Visually bold and carried by pop-infused soundscapes, the film unfolds as a sensuous and emotionally gripping experience – while also offering a striking portrait of modern France and its young generation: queer, multicultural, and online.
