Tel Aviv after the massacre of October 7: the musician Y. and his partner Jasmine, a dancer, perform as garish party clowns, entertaining a decadent Israeli upper class with provocative acts. When Y. receives a commission from a Russian oligarch to compose a blood-soaked hymn celebrating Israel’s war against the Palestinians, the couple’s life is thrown into turmoil. As news from Gaza flickers across screens and Tel Aviv’s streets are saturated with nationalist propaganda, Y. and Jasmine are forced to question their moral convictions.

Israeli director Nadav Lapid crafts a biting satire about conformity and opportunism in a corrupt world, taking a pointed stance on Israel’s current political situation. «Yes» had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
