Unbelievably cool, astonishingly bold, and driven by the desire to reinvent everything, Jean-Luc Godard made his feature-film debut in Paris in 1959 with «À bout de souffle». He broke every rule of film production. Godard would decide spontaneously each morning in a café what to shoot, where to shoot it, and whether to shoot anything at all. «À bout de souffle» made film history, became a defining work of the French New Wave, and left a lasting mark on world cinema.

Richard Linklater's feature film «Nouvelle Vague» tells the story of the making of Jean-Luc Godard's groundbreaking masterpiece about the amour fou between a small-time criminal and a young American woman. Shot in black and white, it offers a glimpse into a turning point in the history of cinema and in the career of Godard, who had previously worked as a film critic. A captivating tribute to Godard's iconic work – and an irresistible love letter to the movies.
