Woolly – Schaf dir das Glück

The Nystabakk family’s sheep farm in northern Norway passes to the fourth generation – to their daughter Rakel and her wife Ida. They leave the city and give up their jobs in the urban cultural sector, fully aware that this decision will completely change their lives. Rakel and Ida are full of enthusiasm, even though they know they still have much to learn.

For over two years, Rebekka Nystabakk, Rakel’s sister, follows this process with her camera. She shows the respectful care of the sheep and the careful management of meadows and alpine pastures. Above all, she documents how traditional knowledge is passed on to the next generation and further developed. Each day brings new surprises – yet Rakel and Ida face the challenges with humor and confidence.
