After serving 15 years in prison for a bank robbery, Anker is finally released. He wants to reclaim his share of the loot that his brother Manfred buried all those years ago. But Manfred suffers from dissociative identity disorder – he is now John Lennon – and has no idea where the money is. To jog his memory, the brothers return to their childhood home, now rented out by a hobby boxer and her husband. Perhaps bringing the Beatles back to life will help Manfred? As fate would have it, a Ringo lives in a nearby psychiatric hospital, and in Sweden, someone alternates between George and Paul.

Director Anders Thomas Jensen has played a major role in shaping the unmistakable style of the Danish cinema wave, which has been thriving since the 1990s. He skillfully blends dark humor, grotesque exaggeration, and sudden brutality with playful absurdity and unexpected depth: the love between siblings bound together forever by fate. Mads Mikkelsen and Nikolaj Lie Kaas shine in the roles of the mismatched brothers.
