The Kid

The Tramp finds an abandoned baby and, at first reluctantly but soon with great devotion, takes on the role of foster father. As the years pass, the two become inseparable. But when the boy's biological mother reappears, their extraordinary bond is put to the test.

In his first feature-length film, Charlie Chaplin blends humour and melancholy in a deeply moving tragicomedy about compassion, family, and belonging. Jackie Coogan delivers a remarkable performance in his screen debut alongside Chaplin.
